This is a one year Postgraduate Certificate course designed specifically for healthcare educators working in secondary care settings.
The Certificate allows students the opportunity to analyse in some depth and reflect critically upon the factors and issues influencing and determining effective education in the hospital setting.
There are five mandatory sessions which will all take place at the Education Centre, Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. These commence on 13 January 2016 and run through until 30 November 2016.
The Certificate comprises two Modules:
- ME7008 - Individual Practitioner Based Enquiry
Assignment 1 comprises a 2000 word assignment looking at the students' "Experience as a Teacher". Submission date is 7 April 2016
- ME7009A - Individual Practitioner Based Enquiry
Assignment 2 comprises
- A 10 minute presentation which students have to prepare and give to the group, plus
- A 2000 word critical commentary on their presentation topic.
Submission date is 7 October 2016
Assignment 3 comprises a 4000 word critical commentary on the material collected in students' learning journals, focussing on what they have learnt as a teacher and how their practice has developed.
Submission date is 27 January 2017.
A 20 month Diploma course for GP Trainers/Appraisers and Dentists who have already gained a Postgraduate Certificate and wish to take their studies further.
